Relationships
Jenny and Jim
We were so disappointed to hear about Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey splitting up. This was a couple we thought would go the distance. We admit that when they first got together we didn't quite get it, but once we thought about it, it all seemed to make perfect sense. They are both cool, quirky people blessed with looks and wit-- what a combination! Our doubts were further diminished when we learned about how how they supported one another through some tough times such as pulling Jenny's son from the brink of Autism. We loved watching them march together in Washington against vaccines- it showed a depth to their relationship and commitment that we don't often see in Hollywood. We were further excited when we thought they were going the "Kurt Russell/Goldie Hawn route" of committing to each other without the need to stamp in on a piece of paper - and we loved them for it. Alas another relationship bites the dust and though this really shouldn't matter or cause us pain, we have to admit it does. When two people who seem right for each other do not work out deep down it worries us just a bit. Yes, they are famous and we cannot identify with that but underneath the glitz and glamour are people with feelings, just like us, who are tyring to make a life with someone and it hits a little too close to home.
Sandra's Heartbreak
Poor Sandy. She wasn't looking for love when she met Jesse James of Monster Garage and yet he won her over. "America's Sweetheart" found herself an unconventional man and relationship that was doing well in the notoriously difficult world of Hollywood relationships. She probably convinced herself that her relationship was different form those other "hyphenated, front-page relationships" and Jesse James let her down on so many levels - and frankly he let us down too. We believed in the quirky relationship because it seemed to be working and we thought maybe she was on to something - that sometimes love doesn't come in the package we are looking for and to keep an open mind and heart. So shame on you Jesse for letting us all down!
